can you just buy the valve by its own? oh well you learn something new everyday. if not too much trouble can you give me the part number for that valve! 

Yes, the valve is available on its own, though the A/C experts might tell you that you need the complete pipe assembly too. andyc found the part number for me for this valve (ie the larger ally valve at the front of the car). I'll see if I can dig the receipt out tomorrow. 

My local stealers wanted hundreds of pounds to replace the pipe when I had a leaking valve. 

Valve replaced for a few quid, regassed and sorted. 

It doesn't give you much confidence when even the dealers with access to EPC & TIS don't know what parts are available.  :-? :-?

That it doesn't Mr B - and I still owe you one for pointing it out to me, I would've been a good hundred squids out of pocket if you didn't!

Yes! Although I'm not quite sure how I was 'encouraged' to do overtime on both days when I should be on rest days ................. I'll just think of the OT
