Few niggles, assistance?
« on: 22 April 2011, 16:37:48 »

Right got a few wee things wrong with the Omega that I could do with some opinions on!

Firstly my speedo doesnt work, ABS/TC lights on constantly and the cars mpg reads stupidly low, this went from an intermittant fault to a now permenant one, read up about ECU issues, mine is a manual car does that effect it? It also can affect powersteering when this fault occurs

Secondly the sunroof has stopped working completely, is it a case of taking apart the mechanism and cleaning the disc with switch cleaner?

Drivers side heated seat doesn't work, passenger one does, in this weather I'm not bothered in the slightest but if my car has a button I'd like whats on the other side of it to work!

Heatshields on the downpipes have rotted and rattle like crazy, I can see they are bolted on near the top, are these needed? Or can I rag them off without issue

Inbuilt satnav doesn't work, hasn't done since I disconnected the battery when it was broken before, it's a self install type thing so maybe nothing you guys can help with but it's a tomtom unit, from what I can see under the glovebox has been what seems to be a motherboard tucked away...

Any help with the above appreciated!

Yep sounds like ABS ECU has failed with those symptoms.

Are your seats cloth or leather? Cloth seats can have the heating pads replaced but leather ones are a little more difficult I believe.

Any pictures of the Sat Nav installation?

Sorry they are leather, not the biggest issue if it doesn't work just wondered if there was some switch at fault as I've read many a thread on the drivers side failing.

I'll grab some pictures for you, trying to see if the previous owner has any ideas

Right then, heres a pic of whats under my glovebox (well behind it)

Also I discovered this, was sat in the back seat cleaning up my leather when I pulled on the ciggie lighter in the back a bit too hard, is this wiring for rear heated seats?
