An Idea, keep a digi camera handy. If you see kids near your car, take a photo, with flash. If a dad comes to your door, take a photo of him. Therefore if there is any trouble, you can say to the police, "here are some likely suspects, caught in the act". This does work, the vandels of today don't like being caught on camera, they don't know where it will land them, and they can't deny a photo. Case in point, My Mrs is a Minister, and at the Monday night youth club there were 4 lads who just wouldn't settle down, kept doing silly things. They were ejected, but kept coming back, ringing the door bell etc, and you didn't know what was happening to the cars outside. They rang the bell once more, I dived out with the camera primmed, and took several pics of them, with flash. They immediately ran off and caused no more problems. Thing is, camera's are good, but if you have tried taking a moving picture at 9:00pm with flash you will know the picture will be useless. However they didn't know that !.
Until we educate our kids to appreciate things instead of destroying them, the problem will persist. The youth club hopefully keeps a few off the street. How about getting a 'Kids Omega Appreciation Society' going ?. They could learn how to service and work on"real cars", might start an interest.
