speak for yerself theo....

"it's only a car"

to which i  respond

yeah fukwit, but it's MY car....  and unless your parents intend to pay for resprays every time  your jean rivets, or belts, or zips scratch it , get yer barsteward arse off it and bugger off.

Oik response

"you dunno where i live innit"

my riposte

it's simple you prat.

let me describe an example scenario for you

I deck you...  you run home to mummy, daddy comes knocking, I hand him the bill.

oh, and by the way your name is "xxxxxxx.yyyyy" and you live down the road at number 22

just because you and your friends are brainless ignoramuses, doesn't mean I bloody am.
Get off my oppsing car and stay off it.

end of discussion.

next week, in the pub, his dad wanders over, buys me a beer and apologises for his son's behaviour.

..

true story.

probably not everyone would have the same ending.,...   but you know what... that's no reason to accept such behaviour and treatment of one's property.

(PLEASE NOTE., the above irresponsible comment was brought to you by a nice bottle of chablis. )
I'm all for straightening out kids, but it's all uni students by me so no dads and no accountability.  I've had shoe prints on the roof of the car.  Never seen them, and sure they'd start something if I did speak up.  The problem with that is it's endless hassle with the police after.  Lots of fights around here despite being an upscale town, but no reports of knives.

Fundamentally it isn't worth having a nice car.  You'll only be disappointed, if only from the rocks smacking into it every day on the roads.

Trains may have been invented here, but public transport is a foreign concept!

police have just called for a chat
so long as the car isnt damaged they dont want to know.
the 3 lads have been causing problems of one kind or another all night
so mr my sons at home very very up set
 can kiss my @r$e
and when its light enough iam going to go over the car inch by inch
if i can find anything........lets just say paybacks a bitch.
all this could have been avoided if when i went outside they apologised
and moved on
edit I should add I WILL find something

An Idea, keep a digi camera handy. If you see kids near your car, take a photo, with flash. If a dad comes to your door, take a photo of him. Therefore if there is any trouble, you can say to the police, "here are some likely suspects, caught in the act". This does work, the vandels of today don't like being caught on camera, they don't know where it will land them, and they can't deny a photo. Case in point, My Mrs is a Minister, and at the Monday night youth club there were 4 lads who just wouldn't settle down, kept doing silly things. They were ejected, but kept coming back, ringing the door bell etc, and you didn't know what was happening to the cars outside. They rang the bell once more, I dived out with the camera primmed, and took several pics of them, with flash. They immediately ran off and caused no more problems. Thing is, camera's are good, but if you have tried taking a moving picture at 9:00pm with flash you will know the picture will be useless. However they didn't know that !.
Until we educate our kids to appreciate things instead of destroying them, the problem will persist. The youth club hopefully keeps a few off the street. How about getting a 'Kids Omega Appreciation Society' going ?. They could learn how to service and work on"real cars", might start an interest.
