No...but Ive looked at the adverts and im sure the 2.2 estates look a good clamshell design.

Eternal is normally a good bet, but they are not listing estate exhausts currently for some reason, may be worth a call  :y

Just bought estate exhaust for 2.5 diesel from eternal. Arrived very quickly and fits perfectly with the Middle box i already had waiting to fit.
I bought the fitting kits etc too and they discounted postage as it all came in one big box.

definitely recommend eternal.

I have fitted a few of these for people to V6's.

I was impressed, they were a good fit, they were of the cam shell type build but, the fitting kit was pretty naff (get some decent exhaust clamps and stainless or Vx bolts).

Understood :y

What makes them better/worse?

If my understanding is right, older style (squarer) GM backboxes for V6 were clam, newer GM ones are cylindrical?

They just appear a better fit and a bit quieter.

Sorry, wasn't talking about these brands in particular, just is clamshell better/worse than cylindrical in general? Do you know of advantages/disadvantages to either?

I'm happy with the eternal on the MV6, given the price. Its not as quiet as the old style genuine GM that came off, but certainly doesn't drone as bad as many pattern exhaust equipped Omegas I've driven, some of which are tiring at motorway cruise speeds...

I did read many moons ago an article relating to a benefit of the clam shell design with respect to reliability as although it required more expensive kit to make, it resulted in fewer compromises on the internal parts.

I guess this could be why they are quieter, they certainly appear to last better.

Hi all just an update on the exhaust. Fitted it today and couldnt have been a better fit :) I also judge quality by the welds and they were all very neat and tidy also coated with i assume a zinc coating so all in all good result :y

only down side was i fitted it all and went for the clamps (I am used to the U shaped come in 2 pieces ones) So I fitted it twice  :-/ :-/ :y
