it would smell if if its misfiring
you wanna check the why the misfire is there first
once the misfires cured the smell should disapear unless it has knackered the cat wich i dont think it should so quick

a misfire smell would be of oil , if it was rocker gaskets, i dont know of any other smell a misfire would make, a rotten egg smell is usually the cats fubared, check the breakers on here for some to replace  :y

Just an update .the prob was a dis plug lead No.4,    center section of exh disintergrated (11 years, 60k not to bad a life).
So fitted new set Magnacor leads/plugs/new dis pack just incase(old looked perfect) /new hbv (old one 17k).checked breathers ect.Cat back exh system.Hopefully this will be it for a while, just need blood transfusion and skin grafts now.

Vx plug leads £100 + vat per side   :-? :o

Thanks

Could someone please explain how the misfire/cat issue causes problems with the centre section of the exhaust.
Thanks, Mike.
