You got rid of a car just because the ABS light came on????

The ABS light could be on for a number of reasons, from something as simple as too much crud between the wheel hub & sensor all the way to a failed ECU.

Do a pedal/paperclip test (whichever is appropiate) to get the error code, then work from there.

Most probably breaked abs ecu.

How to in Maintenance Guides.

Either get yours repaired (~ £100 +), or get a good 2nd hand one off a breaker - best to get from same year and same spec, otherwise will need Tech2 session.

PITA to do due to location & tight for space, but DIY doable. :y

Only gives engine codes mate.  No use to Op for abs problem.

Could be sensors (if you're really lucky!!) - what year is your motor?

You know it's duff when your ABS & TC lights are on. and the speedo dont work.

Your abs Ecu is located on the passenger side of the engine bay under the PAS fluid bottle. The ecu's can be removed easy enough as long as you remove a couple of things first.

Suppose so, experience on the forum says that it's often the ABS ECU  :(

If your speedo isn't work or it works intermittently then your ABS ECU is on its way out. To resolve this problem you need to replace your ECU for a new one or have your's repaired.
