Camshaft sensor issue !
« on: 05 September 2011, 07:04:29 »

what is the use of a Camshaft Sensor? why it keeps damage? Will my Opel Omega (2003) still works if I won't change it? Before three months, whenever I start the engine the spanner+car sign or the orange sign appears on the dashboard. This makes the car feel as though it is being choked and the car moves sluggish.
As of now, this sign appeared again but there is no change in my car performance, and the computer give this error (EOBD 0700 transmission control module).

I would be grateful if you could help me to know the best way to solve this problem.

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

The symtoms you describe all point to the cam sensor, common problem with the 2.2 engine.

If you replace it, make sure it's with a genuine GM/Opel cam sensor bought from an Opel dealer.

can you see if it was put in properly, if lose it would make fault come up. may just need reputting back on. if move about just do the bolt up so no movment.

I think they issued a modified cam sensor.

I stand to be corrected.
