Trade Club rear pads?
« on: 31 August 2011, 11:20:01 »

I remember TB starting a thread about this recently (at least I think it was TB) only I can't find it for love nor money..

Was the consensus that rear pads *are* on Trade Club, or are not? In fact I can't find any pads for the 3.2, the only thing listed on their new (horrible) website are rear shoes...

Just trying to figure out if TC pads are cheap enough to throw a set on, or whether I should buy 'proper' pads from somewhere, or a cheap set of Pagid pads from ECP..

Gotta do something, the squealing is getting embarrassing!

Aftermarket is good enough for the rears

3.2 (therfore vented rears) arent listed as trade club.....and are a lot more than a tenner.

I beleive they are the same though.

the 'real' ones come with shims and new pins, the tc ones dont.

That's the thing, I don't know if they're a tenner or not because the TC doesn't list any pads ;) The only price I found reference to (on here) for the 3.2 was more like £70..

[edit] I did think about just asking andyc, but so far I've asked him for several prices and bought nothing.. starting to feel like I'm taking the piss!  :-[

I'm guessing they'll work just fine.. but how much are non-TC rear pads? Or fronts for that matter since they don't seem to be listed anymore either..

Or by 'standard' do you mean for the non-vented discs?

sorry I mean just cheapo £10 TC rear pads, they are same ones fitted to 3.0 and apart from the vented rear disc how much difference can there be?  :-/

Could always say sod vented, put some standard rear discs on and new pads from a breaker here for a damn site less than £70

And why would you want to downgrade the braking system? :-/ :-/

They stop a 3.0 facelift fine, why should 3.2 be an issue?  :-/

Oooh, yes. BAD things happen if you don't change the calipers.

I wouldn't be changing the spec. of any of the braking system just to get cheaper pads, that's for sure. :o

I changed my rear disks+pads a year or so ago. I believe it was trade club stuff but couldn't be sure. Can't remember what it cost either. ::) If changing just the pads a quick phone call to andy would get them in the post with minimal pain compared to tackling the TC web site, or just get some "cooking" pads from the local motor factors?

Indeed, perhaps I'll just give Andy a bell - I'll see what they say at the MOT first, though, just in case I need any other bits  :D

Better do that on Friday before the current one expires.

Cheers all - if I do get TC pads all round, I'll let you know what they cost for future reference ;)
