door check strap
« on: 20 September 2011, 12:49:34 »

hi

i have tryed to search for any posts but have gained nothing. my drivers front door check strap is making a god awful noise and the door does not want to open fully. with a big push it will open. is it simply door card removal and undo some bolts or is it a bigger job than that? local scrap yard did have omega in, but not called to see if its still there.

thanks once again if you could help.

you are quite right. it has ripped out, only on three sides but is getting weaker. i just got back from dealers and they said to weld it back together. i have not ordered the plates and screws, should i order them and try the repair anyway?

YES! It's a lot easier to use the plates now before the door rips out completely.  :y :y
