Ordered a replacement filter and sump gasket set for my automatic gearbox from Dave Kember who advertises in the back of straight 6 news. It arrived today so looks like I'm all set for a coiffure en huile de boîte de vitesse at the weekend, or maybe at Telford if I don't get round to it.

Cost was 30 quid plus postage (35 total IIRC).  :y

What!!!!!

english man, english!!!!!!!!!

it's not too bad, my biggest issue was getting the sump plug off, ended up welding a prybar to it!!!

Bloody hell, that was tight then :o

just a bit, had never been changed at was sat at 91,000 at the time....

some clown at the factory must have thought 'yeah we will have a laugh with this one, lets get the air wrench on this and see how the little bugger struggles'

If one's gone it may well have mullered the facing surfaces too, so not a 10 minute job even when you've got the gearbox open to do it properly.

Still, better to know about it before it hits the fan.

Not sure about that.  Way I see it, might as well wait for the tranny to fall out the bottom.  :-/
