I agree.  But odd how both cars have stopped leaking together.  I don't understand...

I agree.  But odd how both cars have stopped leaking together.  I don't understand...

Mind you if you CAN fix cars by simply looking at them.....the mechanical messiah.....you could make a lot of money  ;D


You know what to do, top em up, run em and check daily.... ;)

We've been doing that all week, and its not gone down much (Rover also has rad leak, but waiting for a brand new rad to turn up at her work ;))

Perhaps a bit of an off the wall answer but, did you use good clean water to top up with or some of the crummy lime riddled stuff thats available in some places down south?  Could be the limescale has clogged a leak?

It always has the finest that Anglian Water supply - ie, full of chemicals and other rubbish.

Was it leaking all the time?

All my coolant leaks have been when the engine has just been turned off......then stop as the engine cools.
Strange behaviour.....the only thing i can think of is the coolant temp rises briefly after turning off and therefore has an increase in pressure briefly...my current coolant leak from the rad is doing this.

when mine was leaking, it leaked far more on small trips, could only do 2-3 few miler's before needing to refil, could also do 100 odd miles before refil on one long trip
