CCR 2006 replacement, CD30?
« on: 22 April 2008, 18:15:05 »

What to replace my ccr 2006 with?

Can the newer models eg cd30 Mp3, CDR 2005 fit or am I restricted to older models only?

You cannot fit a 2 digit stereo at all, CD30 etc

Some four digit stereos may require additional display etc to be purchased and configured also.

CDR2005 is an excellent choice - simple plug and play swap over - no wiring alterations and no fuss - all you need is the security code with the new unit. :y

Or CCR800 Bose one (have one here with code), also plug and play...depends upon what you want from the head unit...

Not sure thats going to work?

Isn`t the CCR800 a single DIN with the 10 pin ISO connector?

The CCR???? are double din with 36 pin Mini ISO connnectors !

Although just re read the initial bit and its a CCR2006, was thinking CCR600 which has the 800 as a direct upgrade...its late and I'm tired! lol

Interesting to know about the CDR2005 being a direct upgrade for CCR2006...worth remembering

changing from CCR600/800 to CCRT700/CCR200x/CDR2005/NCDC series (or vice versa) is not straightforward.

Downgrade surely... You lose the tape deck (shame) and go from four discs to one.... supposed to be more reliable though!

^^^^^^^
Yep, that's a downgrade!

....and our 2005 failed a few weeks after purchase also. It's a piece of electronics, they're ALL subject to problems.

So we had it replaced under waranty for a 2006, different cage required though.

So, is our '03 DTi Elite likely to have any wiring for an Siemens NCDC2013/2015 Sat nav unit???. At present, it's also got a 2006.

I wouldn't have thought so.

The NCDC series required a RGB cable if it was connected to a colour screen, i doubt that would be fitted if the car was not supplied with the sat nav set up

I wonder if it's got wiring for a phone or perhaps the sat nav antenna then??? Might be worth a look some day.
