Have you got a multi-meter / volt-meter to check if you have current?

Sounds silly, as you will me not be so silly, but, are you clicking the correct switch (front fogs = no light on dash while working, rear fogs = light on dash when working).

Also...do you have the headlights on & the engine running?
I think you need the headlights on before the rear fogs work.

Hope this helps.

There's a relay somewhere in the system to prevent you from leaving your fogs on for days ... & days  ... & days after the last bit of morning ,mist, you can hear it unlatch when you turn your lights/ignition off.

Trace down wiring - oh dear - I'll start with a relay hunt (where is it MDTM?) then down to wiring.

Correct switch - 8 years driving the things ;D

It's not looped through the towing connector to disconnect the fogs when towing I suppose? Could be grot in the contacts in the socket?

Worth swapping a fog bulb for an indicator bulb, just to check the bulb is ok ?

Do you have voltage at the bulb socket?

12S 12N undamaged

Should I hear a relay click?

Will try a multimeter across the 12S tonight to check the feed to boot

The fogs normaly do route via the towing connector.....and the quality of the contacts on the towing connector is so piss poor its a wonder they ever work!

There is no relay for the rear fogs....but it does go via fuse F28

I bet the vast majority of 12N sockets sold are those without the extra switch inside to turn off the car's fog lights.

What's that on track 1555/6 towards the top of Mr Haynes diagram?  :-/ It's not specifically labelled, but i think it's the main light switch
Something definitely makes a click in the light switch if you turn your lights off with the rear fogs still turned on.  ;)

Agreed. I didn't bother, given that the probability of fog that I consider bad enough for a fog light is low, multiplied by the probablility of me towing....

I didn't remove that link either - but I'll pull out the connector during the week and check
