Not mine but mums failed on emissions, is a 99 24v 43000 miles & FSH

                                       Spec                         Value
Fast idle                       2500-3000
Fast idle CO vol%         0.00 - 0.20                    3.57
Fast idle Hc vol ppm          0- 200                       141
Lambda                      1.030-0.970                   0.890

He recomended using a bottle of forte in a full tank & run it for 20 -30 miles tested today &

Lambda                      1.030-0.970                   0.846

any advice as its a bit out of my league & i don't want to see her get ripped off  :(

The fact that the lambda is low and the co is high usually points to lambda sensor fault worth getting that checked first.

Does a Lambda fault cause missing that does not show as a fault?

Looks like that's running rather rich. I'd agree temperature sensor is a real possibility. It could still be running with warmup enrichment.

Any fault codes? Would be worth getting them read.

The very high HC level on the 2nd one indicates a possible misfire but could also be due to the very rich mixture.
