CCR2006 Codeing
« on: 14 August 2009, 17:27:36 »

Hi Guy's

Ok something simple but i can't remember how to do this.

have a friend who jus just picked up a 2000 Elite with a CCR2006 head unit.

Problem he is having is he can't workout how to input the CD Code, radio cassette is programmed ok but can't find how to do the CD player.

Checked on TIS but can't find anything and our tech has gone home for the weekend,

Anyone help please

Cheers

Im sure thats for the old 2 separate piece units - ccr600 etc, when the merged them, it only had one code.  but they occasionally go faulty and ask for a code that doesnt exist.

Switch on ignition
Switch off the radio with power button
Press the AS button and keep it held down while switching radio power on,keep it pressed untill you hear a confirmation beep.
The display should now show CODE _ _ _ _ after 3 seconds it will display how many attempts of code input are left.
Enter code by pressing buttons 1 to 4 then confirm code by pressing AS
Not sure why the CD player isnt working if radio is as on these units the cd changer code is set to off and once you have entered the right code for HU every thing works eg:radio, tape,cd
Does it display CD SAFE ?

Press & Hold Preset " AS " and
Switch Radio On - Display Shows
" SAFE " And Then Shows " 10 - - - - "
Press preset " 1 " repeatedly for 1st Digit
Press preset " 2 " repeatedly for 2nd Digit
Press preset " 3 " repeatedly for 3rd Digit
Press preset " 4 " repeatedly for 4th Digit
If the correct code number is now shown

And if you have the wrong code

yes, cdc safe on ccr2006 is a (common) fault, and needs to be repaired by a good car audio specialist with the knowledge and equip to do it (not many have)

dave dnd runs such a company, and based on past conversations with him, would be more than happy to recommend

No, Ign MUST be turned on first - The method you are describing about turning on ign with buttons pressed can have disasterous results with some models.

Code Entry as Follows:
Turn Off Stereo
Switch On Ignition (No Need To Start Engine)
Press & Hold Preset " AS " and
Switch Radio On - Display Shows
" SAFE " And Then Shows " 10 - - - - "

This is the correct method, and the one described in the user manuals for these models - http://images.omegaowners.com/documents/UserGuides

Confused?

TB, are you saying that the Vx manuals say to switch on IGN with buttons pressed?

As Philips and VDO technical manuals strictly warn otherwise !

No, I was saying you were right :y.

The previous advice of doing it on the ign is incorrect.
