Could anyone please help with problem on 2.2 Turbo Diesel 2002.  Engine Management Light on and rev counter stopped working - car in limp home mode.  Any help would be greatly appreciated

On my 2.0L petrol that pointed to the alternator :-/

Did the light come on the same time as the counter stopped?

and have you attempted the pedal test to code read, unlikely to work, but could be worth a try....
