Engine Management Light - Rev Counter not working

Could anyone please help with problem on 2.2 Turbo Diesel 2002.  Engine Management Light on and rev counter stopped working - car in limp home mode.  Any help would be greatly appreciated :(

You need to get the codes read, where are you?

On my 2.0L petrol that pointed to the alternator :-/

Did the light come on the same time as the counter stopped?

just checking not separate issues...


and have you attempted the pedal test to code read, unlikely to work, but could be worth a try....

rev counter fed from ECU, would need code reader on engine ecu as first step.  Fortunately, we know someone near chester ::)

Is the speedo still working?

(Thinking abs/traction control sensor if it ain't)
