Have you checked the Dash Dimmer, wiggle it up and down, they sometimes get noisy / intermitant if left on full brightness.

not bulbs, they were recently replaced as 1/2 had died.

there is nothing on screen at all, even with all bulbs dead should still be able to make it out slightly.

lights on or off dont make a difference, fiddled with dimmer again no difference.

took dash and unit out to check any obvious faults... nothing I can see, its just as if there is no power going to the unit.

does anyone know what pins supply power feed so i can shove multimeter on it?

Not sure about the Pin Outs but you could follow the track from the bulbs to the connecter (check -0v as well) fairly sure the MID Display doe's not get fed from the Dash though, both the MID and Dash lights get fed somehow from the Dimmer, so while youv'e got it apart might be worth poping the Dimmer out and checking with your meter there also.

Hmmm, wondering if it is a display failure. Post 98 ones are pretty robust though.

If you add your location to profile, nearby peeps may be willing to take a quick look? Certainly if you're near me, swing it by :y

As it happens - I have a spare known working display from a '98 2.5 V6 CD.  If you are interested PM me.

Cheers
