Couple of queries
« on: 17 January 2010, 17:45:58 »

Tried to replace the OE stereo to get the steering wheel functions back but the unit is a real struggle to fit. It wont go in more than halfway. Any tricks/tips to get it in other than brute force?

Secondly the temp sensor was indicating 25 degrees C during the 'big freeze'. How do I replace this? Car is a R reg (mini facelift I think)

Yes, are you trying to put the unit in with the cage or put the cage in first? I put the cage in first, reached in and carefully moved all the block connectors out of the way. It is a tight fit but it does go. Check also that you haven't distorted the sides of the cage.

tried it both ways. the problem is the back of the case is closed and i cant get my hand in to move the connectors out of the way.

i probably didnt make it clear that i am trying to put the OE stereo back in.

yes, tried that. the OE cage is a bit longer than the stereo so i also tried it with my other cage which fits out of position but not in situ  :(
