Well the nice guy from the RAC is out side fitting a hybrid tracker/Traffic master system to the omega for this "Pay as you go" insurance, should work out quite cheap, or so I thought till I read the brake down for my "inclusive" monthly milage...
8 miles of dual carridge way a month... FFS
Any way there reviewing this as it's 30 miles of dual carridge ways just to get off the island for me.
I looked at that, you CAN set it up with them to suit your actual use , as opposed to soemtyhing that's silly like this..
but it ups the price, and made it less of a saving than it first appeared to be.... plus the other restrictions and the fact that it gives them the ability to track your speed , should they choose to.... and could later clobber you for additional premium.... it doesn't say any of that in the brochures and such, but it only takes a minute of thinking about the implications of a tracking system that logs your road use to figure out the whole "Big Brother is watching " scenario...
on an alternative angle , why not use the old road rather than the A55 dual carriageway...
I'm assuming, form the mileage you mention, that you're over by Valley/ treaddur bay etc...
thought about coming round either side of the island?? the north side roads out to Amlwch/Benllech, are pretty fast road, and back when I lived there, never used to have much traffic even during silly tourist season...
same applies to the south coast route, but memory is a bit hazy on how far along you can get up towards Valley...
then drop in to m,enau Bridge and come across the suspension bridge, yeah, it's slower, but it would seem cheaper for you....
from there you can drop in to bangor, or cut around the south side , joine the A55, or use the back roads.
