UPDATE! - mechanic came over about a week ago, didn't get code 19, cleaned all the battery/alternator connections and the car worked perfectly without changing the sensor - until today! - stopped again whilst out. Might be time to change the sensor this time; we supposed to be dragging our caravan out this weekend - not keen on that if we can't get it sorted!  :(

Buy a 'real' one .... don't buy cheap pattern sensors  ;)

I heard somewhere about the need for Tech2 after this replacement, is that just to clear the fault code I take it?
