Had 2 chavs in a Saxo and a ropey old Golf try it on once - when I was sitting at the lights in the Westfield. They'd do well to read up on the sort of performance that they can expect to be up against before drawing attention to themselves.

Played with them a little through 1st then short shifted into 2nd and planted it until the rev limiter, by which time they were going backwards.

OK, a 996 did then come past me like I was standing still. c'est la vie!

True. He did have a rolling start but it would have sounded like sour grapes if I'd mentioned that.  

I think he also had a considerable aerodynamic advantage given the speed we were doing. The Westfield might be quick off the line but it hits a bit of a brick wall at <mumble> MPH.

Oh, I did. All the way to the limiter again.

It did sound fantastic as it left me standing struggled past though.

A 996 Turbo S couldn't shake me from a standing start when I was on the SV650... not bad for a winter hack I bought for buttons!

When I'm on the R1 nothing short of a Veyron stands a chance. OK it tops out at 186 MPH so the likes of a 911 TT can go quicker, but by the time you get to that speed it will be miles behind On the autobahn of course
