hi all im looking to buy 2 new fobs for the omega 3.2 elite whats the difference between the ones with the lights on and the ones with out

Some do have a blank instead of a light.

Purely cosmetic.

the difference to watch out for if buying, is to get the correct type for your car, Megamos or Delphi.

Carefully open the key by levering the horseshoe part forward (the bit with the key blade attached). Be careful not to lose the transponder chip out of the horseshoe section!! Now gently prise the two halves of the fob body apart & you will expose the PCB containing the battery holder & battery. Look carefully along the edge of the PCB & you will find (in tiny print) the make of the PCB ie: Megamos T-am or Delphi.HTH

There is some (faint) writing on back of fob on the area that is very slightly indented.  There are other manufacturers - Megamos/Delphi, Bosch, KG etc etc.  It must match.

Remember, even when you have right fob, you still have to get it programmed to car.

Facelift fobs aren't that expensive from dealer (£25+VAT approx on trade).  For that money, I wouldn't mess around with desperately unreliable 2nd hand facelift fobs if you need to buy a new fob (worth repairing your old fobs to save programming)

i need 1 complete key and fob as i only have 1 for the car so i was going to do away with the micro chip part of the key then the new key will just have to be cut and the both would start the car. the key that came with the car the rubber part of the fob is all worn and tatty and only unlocks when it feels like it
Thats the 1st car dealt with the second car has 2 complete keys they both start the car but only one fob works that also is worn on the rubber the other fob works if your very very lucky

Sounds like they need a service, the three button fob switches fail quite easily, they go squishy inside and stop working

that i do but you don't have the rubber outer case parts for the fobs i may just buy some fobs with good case and send them to you to work your magic on them
