Bulb blown or you've disturbed one.

Check ALL bulbs .. including those on the boot .. :)

eliminate the brake light bulb first by fitting GM replacement. Would be interested in your report after doing this.

In March I also posted on ParkPilot problem as well as continuing headlamp range warning when all seems to be working. I had brake light bulb warning intermittently as well but that was definitely resolved by fitting new bulb

Probably has halfords bulbs. Replace with GM as said. Remember the system only sees a brake in the circuit and instantly flashes up the message, it does not care if the circuit is completed again.

Ime it's the double filament brake light bulbs most likely to play up.

boot lid light works  so do both rear fogs and both rear reverse lights

seems strange that this has come on since fitting rear parking sensors       only cut into the black/white (reverse) and a large brown    (earth)  ?????????

 rear sensors work fine ????????

2 x side lights front and rear

As said, you should have 6x side light bulbs... two at the front and four at the rear...
