« on: 03 December 2010, 16:38:47 »

i have a problem with the ignition key. my solution was remove the brass tumblers & reinstall the barrel in situ, did it but the car still doesn,t start. i just got a constant flashing from eml. i have a new ign barrel coming(tuesday)& my idea was to start the car in the meantime. any ideas out there. :-/ :'(

Check the chip is still in place in key and check that the connector on the transponder ring is secure

you haven't disturbed the immobilser ring on the barrel have you, if thats damaged it will never start, not sure on the alarm system on vx's but i know renaults and peugeot/citroen have this system.

Have you checked the connections to the ecu, is the plug seated all the way home, is the battery fully charged, had the car gone into 'shut down', i know some do if they haven't been started in a while.
