Heated seats problem

i have just got my omega during the week and when i got it home the heated seats stopped working and the engine management light come on, seems a bit strange but ther is no power goin down to the fuse for the seats either.

anyone any ideas?

Iirc fuse 15 runs the seats and half a dozen other major systems as well.

could be the thermostat in the seat didnt cut out causing the fuse to pop, (assuming you had seat on at the time)

keep a couple of 15amp fuses spare with you, and give the car a run with the seats off, if the fuse is ok after that then it confirms the seat is the culprit.

i have checked the fuse and ther isnt even any powergoin to it?? :-/

check the fusable links beside the bettery (under bonnet) and the larger fuses in the main fuse box

anything other than the seats not working? eg. sunroof (if fitted) windows etc

kev checked 29 on mine with seats on, no power to that either, well 0.2 volts or similar. Not sure what 29 does? Although it's clearly heated seat related.

And BTW, have you tried paper clipping it fir the engine codes?

I shall give these a go 2maro and see.. i have a wee obd code reader but it would not connect. Cheers guys

See paper clip test in maintenance,  no need for a reader, bit it only reads engine codes.

Done the "paperclip" test today and got it plugged in, both showing fault code 87  :-?

update** just found the codes on here and code 87 is A/C Cutoff Relay Voltage Low


Anyone else had ths problem before?

Fuse 29 feeds the heated seat switches but i suspect the signal from them only feeds the control unit in the seat. Power for the heaters comes from somewhere else, probably the main feed into the seat for the motors. Can't remember which fuse that is fed by.
