key fob
« on: 22 May 2011, 08:37:16 »

hi all
quick question  ;)

if i buy a new 3 button fob off the bay of e is just a case of putting my blade and transponder/chip into it then syncing it with the car, or should it work straight away  :y
TIA

[edit]forgot to mention that the pcb looks to be fubared so new key would have to have pcb aswell  :([/edit]

No, needs tech2 programming to work with your car.

Wouldnt be very secure otherwise ;)

3 parts to a key

blade for doors / ignition
chip / transponder for immobiliser
remote gubbins for central locking.

you can get 2 out the 3 by swapping bits over.

Alarm code = Immobiliser pin = Car Pin

Why is it FUBAR then?

Is it actually broken or are the switches knackered
