Blowing fuse for lights (right hand side )
« on: 16 June 2011, 19:27:21 »

Cant remember, which number fuse, 10 amp and in the top row, fuse for passenger side parking lights (drivers side in UK). Blown twice within two days. No work has been done, nothing changed, bulbs and wiring "seems" ok...  :( Where would you start? So far with any cars have ever had any problems with fuses for lights

You need to check the wiring thoroughly. There's a short somewhere :(

Ok, that was my thought but still... The wiring goes through very "safe" places... What else is behind that fuse? front and rear light, anything else?

Strange one... I tried to visually check all the wiring I could see, tried to find out the fault with multimeter and it all seems ok. And, the fuse hase now kept four days  :y Could it be... just a thought... The original fuse was "tired" for some reason, the replacement was faulty for some reason and now the third is ok  :-/ Yes, it is a long shot... But however, lights on and fuse still in one piece  :y Let's see how it turns out.

Ok, I'm pretty sure where the fault is: it must be in the wiring going from chassis to tailgate. Does anyone know which wires go inside which rubber grommet? There are two, one on each side of tailgate and they seem so tight fit that would not take both apart "just in case".

Speaking to myself :-) It was the wiring through the grommet, one thick brown wire was broken, also another, was it grey with green stripe was scratched. Anyone know which wires they are? And, the wires go through the left hand grommet, right hand one is for window washer jet  :y
