Mine is an Elite, same as the last one was and both worked exactly the same. The alarm horn and sounder are seperate units and did not activate together.
Bet you a pound to a pinch of the proverbial that you will find that the alarm horn is kaput.
Let me know..... :y

You should have ground, ignition switched 12v, permanent 12v and a signalling wire at the power sounder. I'd be surprised if any supplies have failed as I don't think they are even fused, save for one of the 80A fusible links.

Oh, and PM sent. :y

Kevin

As you can see above Kevin, I only got 6v any time. :-/

Does anyone know for certain which is correct? As this may (should!) help me diagnose my problem. :-?

Was the answer provided in the p.m. you received from 'Kevin'?

Nope. ;)

If both sounders are working properly, both will sound when the alarm is triggered. The power sounder will also sound if the vehicle loses its' 12v supply.

Do I owe you a pound or a pinch of...?  Dead right, the alarm horn is inop. Took it off today, and put 12v across it, zip. Replaced it temporarily with a spare Omega driving horn, as it has the same connection, and it sounds when the alarm is triggered. Am I correct that the other, battery operated one, only sounds when the battery is disconnected?

Thanks Richard, yes I saw Kevin's post earlier, then Bionic contradicted it, and as only the horn type (no batteries) worked when all connected, I wondered whether they were both supposed to sound when the alarm goes off.

Update, still waiting to get a replacement alarm horn. I also need a replacement batter driven sounder. Am I correct in that, almost, the only way is from VX, as from earlier posts it appears tricky to replace the rechargeable batteries?

Yes, the powersounder is a sealed unit. You certainly don't want to put a 2nd hand one in, as it could fail at any time! IIRC they are about 50 quid from Vxl. Although you have to consider whether the Omega is still targetted by theives enough to justify the expenditure.  :y

Yes, its probably not worth it at that price. I've removed it from the TD for safety anyway, after reading reports of self combustion. :y
