Kwik Fit
« on: 29 September 2011, 14:54:09 »

Put my car in for an MOT and interim service last Saturday at the local kwik fit. For £115 I expected an MOT and an oil and filter change. I was surprised at the level of service I got. It passed it's mot (of course) and I got a sheet with all the brake pad and disc measurements, all the locks were greased and a little note telling me that my antifreeze was only effective down to -15 degrees.
I went to top up my screenwash this morning and found it was already topped up.
No doubt some will knock them just because they can, but I will use them again.

Oh...and my old filter was there for me to check, if I wanted to.

The kids at KF made a just about passable job of an oil and filter change recently. Six litres of Mobil 1 plus a filter for £44.95......with rougly another half litre or so dripping down the side of the engine.... :)

Fair play though. They remembered to replace the sump plug. :y

K'ing hell   :o  :o  :o

So £65 for an oil & filter change!? I'd don't pay that much at a BMW dealer for the bike....

No. That's what I expected. Learn to read. An Mot is £30 so the service was £85, but I got more than an oil change.....as I said.

And......I would trust kwik fit more than I would trust a BMW dealer. ;D

Since when has measuring disc thickness and checking antifreeze added any value to a cars service.

All you have done is pay them to check to see if there is anything else they can charge you for.

And your not supposed to grease locks etither.

Make sure you take it to them again though, that way they can struggle to get the sump plug out and filter off  :y

You can all say what you like, I'm happy. Sorry that you all have to pay a small fortune or get your hands mucky to keep your ancient barges on the road. ;D
