MOT time - thanks for your help!
« on: 03 October 2011, 07:39:36 »

I need to thank the guys on here who've helped me out over the last 12 months (again). Just sailed through the MOT at 41k miles/9 years with no advisories and a "perfect, mate!".

I always get twitchy about MOTs - must be a historical thing from when my car (a 1967 Victor 101) failed every year with increasingly expensive consequences. That was when they used a screwdriver to test the soundness of your sills and floor!

I've started using a local MOTMax - they claim to have no vested interest in finding trivial faults in order to sell you parts you don't need. Mind you, I do check out all that I can first.

Thanks again - it really means a lot.

Well done on the Pass! :y
I always use a Local Authority MOT station as they have no axe to grind either ;)

Good point about the Local Authority test centres.  :y
Must remember that - there's actually one quite close to me.

I'll see if I can find an old pic. It was KTV 200E. Blue.
Steering wheel about 2 feet across.

In the end it had a Transit carb, radial tyres, and an alternator from something at the scrappie - can't remember what. Loved it!

Sold it to a garage who used it in a demolition derby, so it was smashed to bits. Amazing that if even ONE wire fell off it, there was a problem, but these guys absolutely destroyed it and it kept on going. Sad day, that.
