American parents continously organised so named smallpox parties to their children. As they said their goal is to help easy and fast pox infection to each other. "The fastest the best". Following this way of infecting they can spare a lot of time and money, so many different event can be organized previously for the time the child ill... - I can't decide whether if they known about preventer vakcine...

But if kids get chickenpox very young, they can get it again....

These parties are daft, but even dafter are parents selling lollies sucked by their infected kids - especially as chickenpox is mainly transferred through the air

Yes, there appear to be two strains of the smallpox virus (the effects of one more serious than the other) so I would imagine this is a disease best avoided at all costs.

haha, I was 28, lasted for three weeks but sincerely the fright was more serious than  illness self. That's why I don't understand exactly why so important to push children to be infected...Ideological difference maybe...

i had scarlet fever when i was young. was off school for 4 weeks. very painful and my brother got it just as mine was clearing. chest was very itchy and skin used to flake off. that was followed by shingles which was painful as well. my mate had chicken pox at 30 and was very ill in hospital with breathing problems as it was in his throat.

German Measles is another that these "parties" are arranged for, especialy for girls .. simple reason is that if German Measles is contractd whilst pregnant the effects can be exceedingly dangerous for both Mother and Baby.

Many illnesses would/could be prevented if children actualy mixed with each other, got dirty sometimes, and came into contact with various bugs and germs .. this allows the immune system to work as designed and as it has for many thousands of years.  Modern cleanliness fetishes and the overprotection of kids actually works against them in the long term IMHO.
