Quick question for the computer guys. I have just picked up a dell gx620 i plug everything in and turned it on. My proview has come up with vga mode not support. I cant see or do snything does this mean i have to buy a dell monitor or is there something esle i can do. Sorry if this is a mess doing it on my iphone.

Sorry just to add on i had to buy a connector which has written on it vga to dvi should that be svga to dvi :-[

was it brand new? sounds like its been previously set to a higher res which your monitor cannot support.

Does it have more than one graphics card?

stick it safe mode and try a lower resolution.
also make sure the gfx drivers are up to date

No its a second hand one. It only has 1 card from what i can see. Cant put it safe mode cant see anything..

When you first switch it on does it show the dell bios screen?

Keep tapping F8 as it starts up, should bring up a menu to allow you to start in safe mode.
Then you can swap the graphics settings to something your monitor can handle.

Iam a happy person now  ;D I did the f8 trick and reset vga  ... then resized screen res.. all working great now. Once again thank you all for the great help.. :y
