Fuse 27, thats what I do now start the car let the compressor put some air into the shocks then pull the fuse, the only thing I know of on that fuse is the back power outlet.
So far as the gearbox, I have always preferred manual boxs as I think they are a better driving experience. (but not that much I would do it without good reason)

Would much sooner have the manual, .....

3.2 manuals mostly came in white ................. too many pedals for an exec car.  :y :y :y Why have more pedals than feet?   ::)

Because slushboxes are the work of the devil!

So WTF did you buy one?  ??? ??? ???

Manuals are a PITA unless it's in a proper 'sports' car, I fail to see how 3 pedals can make that much difference in normal everyday driving when the car of choice is 1700kg. And yes, I do regularly drive a manual car.  :y

You'll have to start learning how to drive a proper gearbox then.  ;)

To be fair it's not so bad when you're the one telling it what to do (like this morning to overtake a truck - stick it in '2', plant foot, fly past said truck, thump it into 'D' just before the redline et voila).. the only thing that really bugs me is that pregnant pause if you just nail your foot down while it figures out how many cogs to drop :)

Bought the car as a stop gap, sold the XJR cause I was offered good money but then had no car. The intention was to find a BMW 535 or 540 with a manual box and just run the Omega short term. Having used the Omega for the last month (not had one before) I have changed my mind and decided to keep it.

Jag had 2 pedals, but it also had a 4 litre V8, a supercharger nearly 400 bhp and the auto box as fitted to the AMG 55 Merc, so no pregnant pauses there  :y

Good lad. For a moment I thought you'd had a manual Jag out of choice  :y :y :y (assuming there is such a thing as a manual XJR)
It's a car I would love to own.  :y :y :y

the omega is meant to be an auto from the comfort/exec/luxury aspect.

the manual hopefully will be gone soon anyway cos flappy paddles will overtake giving the option of either auto or manual.

god you manual lovers really do annoy me  ;D ;D ;D

Having finally driven a proper flappy-paddle manual box (Ferrari 430) the other day, I've reordered my preferences to Auto->Manual->Flappy Paddle Manual

Like playing video games on the road, great fun ;D

Given the choice manual it would have been, I think there are a few about but I have never seen one. They are a nice car and great to drive but the cost of ownership slaughters your bank account, mpg could be bought down to single numbers with ease and at 140 a litre that could mean 15 miles on a tenner.

I suppose it depends whether it's a manual with auto controls or an auto with manual control. I know Smart isn't in quite the same league as a Ferrri, but IMHO  ::) its manual with flappy pedals would have been better as a normal manual.
