Lidl (from Monday, 28th): Snow Chain Set
« on: 19 November 2011, 17:45:26 »

Get set for another hard Winter..... ;)

Snow chain set* available in 4 sizes (70, 80, 90 or 100...see product-packs for precise suitability)....pack incl. 1 pair of galv. alloy steel chains, a case, 4 repair links and a pair of gloves.

£19.99

......w/Lidl`s usual 3 year guarantee.

*Available on Monday, November the 28th.

The image on the Lidl leaflet I have to hand here, it shows a set exactly like the German chain-set that I`ve used for several years and found them very easy to fit and successful in use. :y

What all you 4x4 chaps need to remember is you may get going in the snow, but unless you have full winter tyres, you will stop no better on snow than the rest of us  ;)

Think I saw more 4x4's in ditches than standard cars last big batch of snow  ;D

good point :y

a 4x4 will be very effective if it has good m+s tyres.. if not, the only difference will be you will be skating on butter with 4 tyres spinning ;D

Any idea what the sizes mean?  I know, see product-packs for precise suitability, but curious to know if any of them will fit before making an early morning trip to Pidl.

Somewhat ironically, I`ve once ended-up pulling out my old Disco 4x4 from a snow bank, using the Omega wearing it`s snow chains......Chains are THE way to go on ice and deep/rutted snow. :y
