Used to fix broken shit as well as support the shite (IT Tech Manager) Couldnt stand it anymore (after 15yrs) and moved into property renovation 11 years ago.

Now do anything from putting up shelves to full extensions (doing a garage conversion next week). Love it, especially getting a thank you when you've worked ass off (once in a blue moon when in IT). A bit Less money (but enough) a lot less weight, more homelife and happier.

Right now I'm a 'Data Analyst' - until recently writing reporting/statistical analysis/data warehousing stuff in Perl/PHP/jQuery/MySQL/Oracle/Sybase etc.. right now we're moving the major components into Siebel's OBIEE and Oracle's Business Objects.

Before that, and something I'd like to go back to, I was 3rd line Engineering supporting the companies Web Application security & acceleration products. Much more interesting, it turns out, than this current sidestep in my career!

Aaronjb , that was like a CV ;D
