tunnie goes to Dublin
« on: 05 December 2011, 20:58:54 »

Went to Dublin last weekend, fabulous city. Everyone very friendly, people appeared a little more "chatty" that London pubs where everyone is in their own world.

A few of these were enjoyed:

Normally I was not a fan of Guinness, but in Dublin it had a far better taste, not nearly so bitter lot sweeter. Must try another few pints here to compare. (any excuse!  ;D)

Saw their millennium project, The Spire, or the "bono" referred to by the locals, as he always used to be the biggest prick in Ireland  ;D

Quite nice around there at night:

One little rant, why is it, no matter what Airport I go to, they all make Heathrow look like a shit hole!?

Dublin has a really nice terminal....

Very much doubt it will be as good.  For example, Ouzo is quite palletable in Greece ::)

guiness over here is nothing like it is in southern ireland  :(
in fact northern ireland guiness isnt as good as southern ireland  :(
if you talk to the locals they will tell you that guiness is a living culture and will not travel  ::)
tunnie (darent ask) but how much is a pint of the black stuff now in dublin?  and i hope you didnt get stung in Templars bar  ::)  the drinks in there after a certain time go up in price every hour  :o
but you only realise the next morning due to the fact that people are usually well on the way to being, shall we say merry  ;D
i was over there last year and the beer prices were expensive then  :(
but as you say lovely place and yup they talk to anyone  ;D
