Flu outbreak
« on: 15 March 2008, 18:19:49 »

My seven year-old picked up this virus (from school, I guess) and she's been unwell for a week. Now my three year-old has it...and I've just started a getting tickly cough.  :(

Saw the out-of-hours doctor today as my three-year-old had got bad conjunctivitis (seems like a symptom) and was getting distressed. Doctor said the virus seems to be quite widespread.

Main symptoms are fever, headache, lack of appetite, watery eyes, cough and, most of all, absolute lethargy. Normally, my seven year-old regards bedtime as something to be avoided. This week, she's been crawling into bed voluntarily at 6pm.  :o

SWMBO's having trouble at work finding cover for sick colleagues, too.

Anyone else noticed this "outbreak"?

There's been a lot of guys from work off with the flu in the last week or so, there is something going about.

since having kids i've never been so ill, like you say they pick viruses up from school and pass them on to every else in the house.

On the way home from Telford i started feeling rough. Got home, no computer, no drinks, off to bed for 3 days. Coughed my guts up, head hurt when coughing, pressure nose bleed (1st since i was a kid) face burning up but rest of me shivering. This was'nt man flu girls, i can work through a cold, it really breaked me over. If any of your kids have this i sympathize.
All gone in 3 days though! :'( :y

Well, I've succumbed. I feel like c**p and am coughing my entrails up (figuratively-speaking, I hasten to add!  ;D).

Off to bed in a mo. Looking after my three year-old tomorrow.

CBeebies all day, methinks.  ;)

If you've got what i had, sympathies. Beechams all in one takes the edge off if you can drag yourself to the chemist. Still hacking the residue up. Flob out the truck window & if it catches the mirror see how fast i can get before it lets go!!!
Childish but despite getting on a bit i refuse to grow up!!!!!!!!!! :D ;D
