As some of you may know Paul has had some strange noises from start up, not all the time I might add as when we had a look at Newent the noise typically did not happen. But Torque Convertor Bolts etc were checked.
Paul mentioned that the car has had extensive work done on it before he bought the car..
The car landed here to be checked over so a few pictures here to show what I have found up to yet...
Started to remove the Gearbox, found Gearbox Breather Pipe burned to death so will be after one of those, wiring all over the place and found this..... can you see whats missing?

So carried on removing the Gearbox & Torque Convertor to find this..... can you see whats wrong??

There is a Spacer Plate that fits to the rear of the Crank. The Flex Plate/ Drive Plate/Flitch Plate sits onto that then has a sort of washer which has 8 holes in it that the bolts go through, bolting all three separate items to the Crank, so really the Drive Plate is sandwiched in the middle (hope that makes sense).
As you can see by this next picture the Spacer Plate is in the centre of the Drive Plate

So I knocked it out to leave this...

I tried parting the 3 separate items Spacer Plate, Drive Plate and "Washer" but found it impossible can you see why?

I have managed to source the parts needed from Steve Omega Spare Parts, so thanks for that Steve magic as ever

so fingers crossed Pauline's car should sound a little better when back together

I still believe that people removing these gearboxes are not fitting them correctly, then damaging the Drive Plate whilst refitting. In my opinion that is whats happened here. It obvious the gearbox has been removed, then refitted very poorly as there are half of the important bolts missing.........
