Fine by me, and please book me a static, may well want to stay a little longer, as may others..... :y :y
However, if there was a feeling to move to another venue i would be equally interested.....I have my orders from Miss Vamps.... :D :D :D

Voted try another, but only because of the midges. Cant see any other site in the Lakes being much different though tbh..... :-\

Static please, if revisiting, although the statics aren't as social as "slummimg it with the rabel down the bottom field"  ;D  ;)

Only reason I'd vote elsewhere is because of the midges too.

Not even sure I'll be able to make it this year though :(

And trying to decide between a static or taking the camping gear too ::)

I have to agree the midges nearly made me not go this year, this is really why I asked.

Just an Idea but what about a Scotland Meet?

Or where is on the opposite side of the country to the Lakes nice to go? What about more Inland if that makes sense try and stay away from the midges?? same sort of height up the country but away from the Lakes?

Just thoughts

Even that has not been decided, perhaps a good idea would be everyone interested put there dates in, then we can go with the majority?

I don't know enough about midges and their habits to know what's best to do tbh...?

I gather some parts of Scotland are considerably worse for midges. So wondered if further south would help avoid them, say southern Cumbria, Kendal or Windermere perhaps? :-\

What attracts midges? Is it time of year? Low lands in the valleys? Water side areas? :-\

Wish I had a definitive answer to that one Chris >:(

We get infestations of the f***ers here in our back garden - and Dear Pamela suffers dreadfully from their biting antics :'(
Am inclined to give any such meeting a miss to be brutally frank. Newent suffices perfectly for us to be honest. :y

Thanks for the well-intentioned thoughts Daz! ;)

What attracts midges?

Quite simple - it's the sweet, sweet flesh of my beloved Dazzer of course. :-* :-* :-*

Ive said the same....but dont mind either way.

Its a nice site, but a trek to the very basic facilities, and the owners are okish at best?
As the organiser, I would say do you mind dealing with them again?  if not, find somewhere friendly, like say, burns farm ;D ;D ;D

Dont even bother playing chase the midges...

they are either about, or not.

they are everywhere up there, you wont find a midge free site, its luck of the draw if they are about or not.
same goes for scotland....which is probably too far for a lot to travel.

Cheers for taking it on again :y

What about two meets at Newent?
The only thing then that would not sit right for me is Hotel 21. As we know he attends every meet and is one hell of a trek.
Apparently the East side does not get midges like the west does.
I will have a look at some sites similar height but further across from the Lakes. Not all sites I found want to take groups, plus let them work on cars....

Last years site was a good one and we got no hassle from the owners. Only things were the midgies, uphill treck to the toilets and cold showers but they were minor things :y
