slowly falling out with lpg
« on: 01 February 2012, 12:27:27 »

i have had 2 lpg omegas since 2009 the first one tbf never ran correctly on lpg and was bodged from fitting until daz and a lpg expert from chorley sorted it it then ran fine for 9 months and then started with the same old problems...By then I had lost patience, so early this year I bought my present car from elite pete .Its a 2.6 mv6 with a professional conversion..All was fine until november this year when it started to misfire on gas and a eng management light came on..It showed codes 300,301,303 which seems to be misfire cylinder one and three..thought coilpack so had that changed along with some new 4 core plugs and it's still missing...i'm getting to the stage where i want to sell the car and buy a old e300 /530d   and run on diesel.. :( :(

Needs a look at fuel trims perhaps?

The window of operation for LPG is much narrower than on petrol as I'm sure you know, as gas is harder to ignite. The LPG set up needs to be spot on re jet sizes, and seasonal temperatures need to be taken into account. Some more expensive kits handle this better than some cheaper ones.

And as we have seen on here so often, a professional install doesn't guarantee anything, sadly.

Karl, have you PM'd Chris Gixer, Kev Wood or Lazytinker like I mentioned to you?
You work in London and so a drive to either of them may solve your problem. I hate saying this about them, and will go and wash my mouth out with soap afterwards, but they are very good lads :y

TBH, once you have it converted to the correct standard (read our standard, not the standard used by most professional outfits) there is very little to go wrong. The problem with Karl's sounds interesting. Unfortunately I don't have access to any software other than the Stag one so I don't know if I'd be able to do much for him. TBH, Kevin is probably the best bet because he's got the Tech 2 as well :-\

I'm more than willing to cast an eye over it if we can arrange a convenient time. Where in London?
