Dont think a drill bit will go all the way down Webby. Iirc it changes shape inside near the bottom. When the smaller ones are cleaned/unblocked, the carb cleanr or petrol should shoot out of the little holes. :y

Hey up chaps, how are we?

Ok, started the car today. It sounds like a tractor still. I couldn't help but think of Aaron's avatar..

''And it went 'dugga, dugga, dugga, dugga'' hahahaha

Ok, so it seems that putting the leads on the disspac correctly wasn't the problem. I'm thinking that because it recently had th CC Gaskets done, the leads and/or disspac have been fubared too. Would a misfore cause this dugga, dugga, dugga sound or am I looking at another problem?

Mainly though I want to know.... if this has been caused by me doing something wrong on replacing the plenum? I don't think so and as said I think it needs items replacing which, as it's a practise car, I am not going to do.

Just wondered what your thoughts were? :)

It could well be that the leads and/or dispack have been fried by the leads sitting in oil for too long.Tbh,afaik the only sure way to tell is by replacement.Could try replacing just the leads to see if that cures it,or remove the dispack and check for rusting, splitting etc. The route of least hassle would be to beg steal or borrow a dispack complete with leads and fit it all on the car to see if it cures the rough running. This is assuming of course that youve already done the paperclip test and got no codes to report ?

That's what I was thinking mate.

I will do the PC test for any codes and any indication of a further problem but as I said at the start if it needs new parts then it's going to get broken I'm afraid..... After I've practised the cambelt, brake replacement, CC Gasket, Head gasket jobs then it will be ''guys, what bits do you want''!!!!

 :y

Just wondering before I do the PC test, Albs, would it cause that racket? I thought the misfire due to fubared leads, dispack or plugs just lead to bad performance when driving?  :-\

I cant hear the racket webby,so I dont know. :P ;D.....if its not running on all 6 though,it might sound like an old tractor. I suspect it needs someone with relevant experience to pop round and give you the benefit of their knowledge tbh mate. :y
It may help if you take some video of it running and then everyone can have a listen. :-\
