We must be able to stop this theft, time for a revolution????
We had a chance last election, and nobody would do anything.

In these lean years, taxes need to rise (less corporate tax, which is the big earner).  With the way the media are trying to go all green and anti 4x4 (despite most modern 4x4s being no worse than many similar sized cars), non Prius and non G-Whizz drivers will get hit hard.

I did my bit - didn't work!

Mind you I detest the way polititians roll out celebrities to encourage you to vote for their party.

Notice how all the communist party supporters are rich?

My problem is that I am very anti communist so anything this government does tends to annoy me.

I detest restricted short lists, this bunch of tossers brought in woman only short lists because their women candidates were too useless to get a position without one.

If someone is capable they will get there - if women only short lists are so wonderful why is the current communist PM a man?

If you look at the other lot they had no shortlists but they managed to have a woman PM.

I will also say that the other lots most well known gay appears to be the only known one in parliament who doesn't push it.

TBH the best recent politician who never got the PM job AFAIAC was Ken Clark, a rare beast in the form of an MP you could sort of trust.

Maggie - now she was good at her job like her or hate her

Communism is both extreme left and extreme right policies at the same time.

TBH the current bunch are completely useless, and I do not hold out too much hope for the other lot.

I reckon we will see the special rate of car purchase tax reappear - like another 5% or 10% like we had in the 1970s

Agree :y, though she (like anyone who is in power for too long) became too detached by the mid 80s...

She was the type of leader that would only be voted in in times of total desperation as a kill or cure, though. Not the type of "Safe bet" "seems like a nice chap" opposition leaders we are getting at the moment. I suspect things haven't yet got bad enough for a new Maggie to step onto the stage. Hopefully they won't.

Too young for a start. Blair has shown that young PMs are dangerous. They have to have a career plan that extends beyond being PM for a decade or so. That means pandering to the EU, because rather off to Brussels is what all politicians do when they have rendered themselves useless at a national level. There are more scary things about to be forced upon us by the EU than the current Labour party could even dream of. :o

This is a potential consequence of the demise of the UK motor industry.  if you look at countries like Denmark, Norway or Ireland (I think) that have never had an automotive industry/lobby,  vehicle taxes are astronomic.

You know what? My mini-facelifts are looking so much better than the facelifts all of a sudden....

 :y
I wonder if we will see a revival in values for the older cars ? and a massive drop in value for newer ones ?
Also what have the wobble box (caravan) fraternity got to say on this issue, or indeed anyone who has tow something.

I think things are bad enough to warrant another "Maggie".
The problem is we don't have another Maggie to vote in, more's the pity.
