Hi Guys,
I have 2001 omega and I have an MOT coming up soon and one thing that I need to sort out is the hand brake cable and hand brake disc, but the problem is that I don't know how to do it! 
Can I have some help please

I did the handbrake cable on my MFL. Imagine it's probably the same in which case it's not difficult, just diddly, particularly adjusting the cable itself due to confined access.
What is the problem with it?

Its not strong if you know what I mean, so i thought about changing it all, but the problem i just need to know how to remove the old one and replace it with a new one

Your handbrake operates on a drum at the back, the disc you can see is for the foot brake 
The shoes are unlikely to be worn out, they only hold the car when it's already at a standstill (handbrake turns aside  ) I'd expect it just needs adjusting as per the guide.

I done this last week on my mfl. Jack up rear of car secure with axel stands. Get to about half way down car and remove heat sheilds. You will see a bolt connecting to a bit of plate with two cables coming out of it. Get a 13 mm socket and loosen of nut. Get to about  the rear wheels and take of more heat sheilds and unclip handbrake cable from a C shape bit of steel. On back of disc remove spring then cable. Do same both sides and remove complete cable. Fitting is same as removal the way I done it was first put cable onto bolt at centre of car and then feed cables to the rear.

To change disc take off rear wheel Use flat head screwdriver and loosen handbrake shoes. undo 1 bolt holding on disc. Take a 19mm socket and take of calibre then disc should just come free.

Mine had worn down to steel I changed cable then ended up changing shoes aswel.

which is why I said unlikely and not 'won't be'  There's no reason why the shoes would be worn at all, as said above, a handbrake is deigned to hold stationary a car that's already stopped.

I too have a handbrake issue.
The other day when I pulled the lever it seemed to give way like a cable had snapped but everything still functioned ok.
The lever appears to rest to one side and there is a bit of sideways travel.
Any ideas ?

like you say Andy, handbrake is there for when you are stationary, so in theory no wear should take place at all. Yet when i bought my car, first thing i did was to adjust the shoes up so the hand brake was on one notch.

now after 10k in 2yrs, it on 4 notches. ?

no j turns as displayed in a certain you tube video, so i guess just cable stretch.

Have a look under the back end where the cables are clamped to the rear arms 
I had a similar problem.
It turned out that the cable had pulled threw the clamp and had become loose.
If so, just push it back into the clamp and adjust it with a hammer until its tight

Thats easy, not nearly enough slack in the cable and hence everytime you put some load in the back or hit a bump, the movement of the rear suspension will cause the shoes to very slightly apply and wear them out.

Hence why I did a detailed guide on what to do....the setup is simple and servicing and adjustment is not hard but MUST be done in a specific order and with some slack in the cable when its released.
