Poor Big Blue!
« on: 21 February 2012, 21:38:38 »

My poor car is having to be very tolerant towards my blatant lack of attention to signs!  ::)

Saturday night, off clubbing in Chester with friends, parked up in a car park I've used hundreds of times and off we toddle.  Arrive back to collect car at 2 a.m. only to find that the car park is now locked from 11 - 6.30 at weekends!  Sign is smaller than A4 with very faded print!  Bugger, can see Big Blue but can't get to her!  :(

Had to treat my poor car to a nice bubble bath to apologise! :-*

Today.  Driving along a road that we use frequently and therefore know to be a national speed limit, within said limit as patrol car behind me.  Flashing blue lights, oops!  Nice Mr police man asks if I realise that it's now a 50 mph limit and I was breaking it.  Apologise profusely and explain that when I drove it yesterday it was still a national and I hadn't seen any new signs.  Sent on my way with the suggestion that I may like to be slightly more observant.  Phew! :-[
Had a good look and the speed signs have changed but no warning of a new speed limit which they seem very fond of doing around here! :(

So that's 2 incidents this week, wonder what'll be next?? :-[

They certainly do, that's what got me wondering!

Hope I don't choose to ignore an important sign next time! :-[

The car park thing is outrageous IMO. Ok don't let cars in, for whatever reason, but you can't lock people's cars in without being able to leave .  >:(

i fell foul of the car park thing in watford a couple of years ago...  .... no obvious signs saying they REALLY close it at 11 on a sunday, by which i mean, lock it all up , with big metal fencework gates,   and charge you extra  to get out.....    i think it was £30 or something.....

fabulous,  had a meeting in the hotel next to the car park,  which does not have it's own car park....     finished at 11.30, got back to find i couldn't get to the car, never mind get it out of the car park and go home....

called the number on the ticket machine,  and then waited an hour or so for them to come and let me out....

no obvious warnings in the car park or in the hotel.....

rather livid....

I thought it would be that one. Looks like i'll be cutting through the Lache to visit Morrisons from now until July then. So how did Ljay get away with it, was it fluttering her eyelashes or was the copper using a bit of common sense ;)

Common sense Pete!  ;)

The car park was a nightmare, they'd put up paper signs which they'd admitted had been ripped down, hence no notice it would be locked. They came out after about an hour and a half and sat in their vans to smoke their fags before finally letting us out!  Rude and obnoxious, good job I was the sober one or it might have ended differently! >:(
Used the same car park on mon and more paper signs had been sellotaped up...fantastic, well done lads! >:(

Aaron, I'm not gonna call you on women driver comments for once, I've not got a leg to stand on! :( :( :(
