Yes mate. Slightly better mpg when driven normally. Doesn't bog down off the line and much better past 4500 rpm.

Mine is an auto also. :)

Yours is 2.5, so yes can be chipped.

A 2.6 cannot be chipped, main upgrade would be some 3.2 cams which would add around 20bhp

Why is that tunnie? What the difference between the two?

Nothing to actually chip in the 2.6, electronic remap only, no noticeable gains. Cam upgrade way to go!

2.5 and 3.0's can have a socketed chip replaced.

2.6 and 3.2's cannot, need a remap instead.

Chipping and Remaps effectively mean the same thing, the ECU's Memory Map is changed.

2.0, 2.5, 3.0 and 2.5TD's all use Eprom based Memory, meaning the Eprom needs to be physically removed from the ECU and replaced with another Eprom, often called a re Chip.

2.2, 2.6 and 3.2 use on board Flash Memory, meaning the Memory can be changed (Re Flashed) in-situ, without the need to remove anything from the ECU, often called a remap.

Both methods end up with the same result, the ECU's look up Memory has been changed (remapped).

Some Chipping Companies also refer to a Full Remap, which in theory should mean changing the Memory Map to suit the Engine's individual characteristics and modifications, rather than supplying
an off the shelf predefined Map.
