Jacked her polo up to inspect the noise of a buggered back box(  ;D ) and noticed a rattle from the pulleys in the engine bay... again.
Wheel off, liner off, cover off with the most stupid screw on clips, aux belt off, start engine.... Still doing it, 'dangle berries'. New cam belt and water pump needed, re seal sump which means drive shaft off. .... Or chop it in for an Astra J Elite....?

Decision time, this could take a while.

Started work on mine.
Removed upper inlet manifold, replaced the heater bypass valve (suspect cause of DIS failure) and removed the DIS pack.

Replacement DIS arriving in the morning so hopefully tomorrow will see her running.

Serviced the wife's Focus yesterday. Was real easy!

Spark plugs so accessable compared to mine!  :D

One thing though... i borrowed my mate's socket set and he gave me the socket with the plastic ring in so the s/plug would oull out once unscrewed..... i dont have these. is there simply a plastic fitment that wil slip inside my socket when i wana do plugs? or do i have to buy the socket with the fitment already?

cheers
