Its the same stat, seal and bolts that have been on the car for several years. It only started weeping recently
Seal looked a bit knackered, which isnt surprising as its a thin little piece of rubber.
Thats why I used some blue Hylomar as a belt & braces approach but evidently, it hasnt worked.
Get some sleep and look at it again when you feel better, Albs. Please don't push yourself, it's not worth it mate  :-*

There was some variation with the thickness of the thermostat housing casting. Whether that variation extends to the seal as well I couldn't say, but it's been a while.

And to echo Stemos point, it's easy to get wrapped up in something to no benefit.

Oh, it might have been the thickness of the flange vs. the length of the bolts? I remember some combinations that caused some frustration, at any rate.

Yes I think thats what it was Kevin. :y
Might have another look tomorrow depending how I feel, as the weather is suppose to turn really cold after that.
Having said that, I have two other cars available, so if Im not up to it, it can wait.

It was both. Some had a thinner flange so needed either shorter bolts or washers to space them out and some had a different width channel and corresponding seal.

It was, there was a different supplier with a thicker flange (oh er) which required longer bolts.

Ive ordered all three O rings from Autodoc. Nearly £20 inc delivery for three little rubber rings, but what can you do ?
I dont want to keep having to repeat the process because something isnt sealing quite right. Its too awkward, and wrong time of year to keep messing around like that.
Cars as old as Omegas are now, some parts will be difficult to source and a few quid has to be spent.
No idea when delivery will be at the minute, which is a bit of a pain, but hopefully not too long.  ::)

Actually, I should have posted this in my thread in Omega help. Will pop in there and duplicate it.  ;D

Picked up my repaired instrument cluster.

It's missing a menu from the options and I can't get the.variant.coding to stick, so will have to add that to the list when the gearbox module is replaced next week...
