Omega General Help / Wet Gearbox selector switch

Weve some localised flooding around here, nothing too deep.....

but enough to cause Big Blue's selector switch to light up like a christmas tree..

Whats the best procedure?

leave it to dry out naturally?
take it off?

should I open it up....and do what?

I may have a spare here already....again, what should be done to refurb?

General Car Chat / rear wheel bearing being done tomorrow

At a local place, also having my geometry done.

Bearing has gone from a slight noise, to bad in a couple of days, so darent leave it any longer.

£80 which I dont think is bad at all, I am supplying the bearing too.

Be interesting to see how much of a battle they have

Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / Elite Estate Boot Cubbyholes wanted

Hi, I am after the pair of plastic 'trims' to form cubbyholes over the wheel arches in the boot of an estate.

They were only fitted to some elite's by defaults as far as I can tell.

In a dark colour, not cream please.

Omega General Help / VW '99' relay mod problems / wipers on a go slow

My VW 99 relay (programmable intermittant wiper timer) has always been fine.

Used the car for the 1st time in a week, went to clean the screen, and the wipers were lethargic and only swept once.

all speeds lethargic, and virtually the same, and no intermittant.

Swapped back to original, and things seem ok, but still possibly a little lethargic, need to check 2 cars together.

Anyone else had issues?

Mine (generic) are getting tired, and keep rucking up, and blocking the kickdown switch, so its time for some new ones.

Do VX still do em?  that clip into the carpet?  and how much?

or anyone bought some of the posh looking custom fit ones off ebay, again are they any good, do they clip in?
