hi all after all the work i have done to the miggy recently i've now noticed that the aircon isn't working but it was before! anybody got any ideas? mechanic said he was nowhere near aircon.

hi all been a bit but now car has probs again. when i drive car it drives fine but when i go to stop car keeps stalling, will start straight back up though! any ideas???

hi all i have a problem at the moment. i'm off to kent tomorrow as there is a funeral but my car ....... has suddenly decided it's going to start hunting. revs on its own from 1000 to 1500  and won't go any lower on idle. please help as i need to get this sorted for tomorrow!

Omega General Help / found my oil leak

hi all i have got my car to garage fr work doing and head came off today. my oil leak was on cam cover blue smoke from stem seals <could be seen weeping past> and when had exhaust manifold done guy didn't tighten bolts up some were loose. and when had it heli coiled a bit was hanging down into cylinder.  cam belt had started cracking so that being done so's hg. it's having a full service and all oils topped op and checked!! so the car is having some more money spent on it!!!

Omega General Help / what to use, oil and parts

hi all just about to do some work on my motor and need to get some bits but don't know part numbers or have a tc <if someody near me has one that i could you'se will get some frothy bevvies for letting me use> the things i need part numbers for are,

diff oil
engine oil
gearbox oil
oil filter
fuel filter
air filter
pollen filter



want opinion on what antifreeze to use and i'm going to do oil flush and coolant flush. what do you all suggest using? can any1 think of anything that i could need to change.

Omega General Help / revs won't go below 1000rpm unless stopped

hi all

have noticed recently that when i'm driving and i dip clutch revs won't go below 1000rpm untill car has stopped moving <stopped completly> is this normal? or any ideas what problem could be so i can sort it?

Omega General Help / car bk from garage now tappets are noisy!!!

hi all

just had call from garage saying car was ready . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . BUT there was excessive noise from tappets. they said car had no oil in <which i doubt as cars mid would of said!!!!>. once they put oil in the noise has quietend. but still there under rev's. what are chances of noise going once oil has chance to circulate properly. or will i need to get tappets repaced???

any help will be appreicated cheers steve

Omega General Help / car thrown a plug <helicoiling needed>

hi all

just another thing wrong with the car, was driving down the road when all of a sudden hear a blowing noise and loss of power, so i pull over and check underneath nothing so i pop the bonnet and low and behold the car has thrown a spark plug. try putting it bk in and it won't go.

so i phone brakedown and they come out and mention "heli-coil" but then need an engineer. or a new head!!!!!

Does anybody know a cheap engineer in leeds area that could do it??? or have any suggestions on what i could do!!!

Omega General Help / exhaust manifold! head had to come off

my miggy is currently at garage having exhaust manifold done. only thing is the spanner that had car before me tried doing it and snapped 4 bolts. so now head is having to come off to be re threaded and old studs drilled out. so what was gunna cost be bout £70 is now going to cost me about £200 can't afford to get rid of the car now lol so you'll all be seeing plenty more of me, poor you lot!!!

just wondering whats the avg mpg of a 2.0l 16v.mine does about 26 mpg with fuel leak and exhaust manifold gone!!! is this good or bad??? it is on short runs that though on long journeys it goes up to low 30's

i've just bought exhaust manifold for miggy but then looked through manual and at car and it looks like a BIG job, is it a big job or is it quite easy? if anyone near leeds who could do it that would be great, just tell me how much!!!
