Omega General Help / Re: Stubborn Steering Idler
« on: 29 July 2007, 00:46:37 »
Hi,thanks for all help/advice regarding the idler, done it today and took around 30 mins!,also changed the n/s outer track rod end as that had some play, another mission that was!,slackened off the clamp sprayed some penetrating oil around it then tried to turn it only started to turn the inner one (which was still clamped)...got it off in the end, decided to take some measurements and dismantle the whole lot, regreased then reassembled, also did o/s side so when it goes to be tracked everything should be nice and free...thanks again everyone...Wayne

My Dad took his car to a local garage to have his tracking checked to be told they couldn't do it as there was play in the lower arm ball joint, anyway got a replacement arm only to find the play was in the idler not the ball joint, tried local (SAF) factors but don't do them, anyone know how much they are from dealers?....looked on ebay couldn't find any either...Many thanks...Wayne
